The 2nd XV 'Airsharks'

With they name coined during the 1990s when the captain at the time acquired a large shark from an away fixture, the 'Airsharks' remains the heart and soul of the club. In recent years its successes have included victories over the University of Birmingham 3rd XV, the University of Birmingham Fresher 1st XV and numerous Medical School 1st XVs. During the 2018/19 season the Sharks will partake in the inaugural National Medical Schools 2nd XV Cup with ambitions to replicate the success of the 1st XV who also won the inaugural 1stXV competition in 1994. Whilst fielding numerous players who played for their school 1st, 2nd and 3rd XVs and even had further representative honours at school, the Sharks also strives to field players of all abilities, often fielding players who had never played rugby before university. Some of these have even gone on to represent the 1st XV.
