On 26th September 2022 we sadly lost a true great of UBMSRFC.
Dylan Rees was the Club 1st team captain in 2001-2002, he won the RSM 7’s, played in the NAMS cup final and two semi finals (then went on to win it several times with Cardiff medics). Dylan embraced the true spirit of the Club with his talent, leadership, tenacity and popularity.
In the days of the early 2000’s when Ricky Martin blasted away in the student union guild, Dylan captivated the true spirit of UBMSRFC. He played hard, partied hard, and was loved by all who knew him.
Ten years ago in a tragic incident on the rugby pitch, Dylan suffered a head injury requiring constant care. Shortly after turning 43, Dylan sadly passed away.
All our thoughts are with his family and friends as the world has lost a son, brother, uncle and a legend.
All our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to a true icon of the medics rugby club.
