First 2s game of the season saw us play Mech Eng 2s under the lights at Portway. We had a lot of new faces in the team as the freshers and a few old favourites joined the sharks regulars in the sacred yellow strip. It was a very sharks performance in many ways: a lot of dog ball, everyone going off injured, and a prop kicking off the tee. It was also a very different game for us, as we charged forward in the scrum as fast as we normally back pedal, and even did a backs move or two.
We dominated the first half against the wind but went in 5-5 at half time. With 10 minutes to go it was 10-10, before chairman Lannister making his debut in the sharks back line ran over some poor engineers and scored the winning try. Not a conversion in sight but some quality Lambrini rugby. Hopefully many more wins to come.
